Profile of candidate – Safety
Academic Qualification – Any Diploma or Degree in Engineering with Diploma in Safety in authorized University
Mandatory –
Valid certification in Industrial Safety
Should be familiar in Fire Safety

Desirable

Professional Experience – Minimum 3 to 5 years’ Experience in Safety department in Factory operation.

Roles and Responsibilities

Computer Skills:  : MS Office / Excel / Power point

Develop system of reporting unsafe condition and acts and tracking of closure to improve safe working environment.
Leading and establishing Safety committees to involve employees, management team & Contract worker to improve safety performance.
Develop Safety promotional activities like, Campaigns, competitions, innovations, Reward and recognition.
Develop Safety and Health training calendar to educate all employees and mandate minimum training period for every person every year.
Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk analysis (HIRA), training & evaluate accident free mandays.
Develop Industrial Hygiene program to ensure that the employees are not exposed to Chemical, Dust, Noise, Heat above threshold limit to prevent occupational health hazard.
Develop Contractor safety program to cover all the requirements to ensure their safety.  Issuing ISI standard PPEs, periodical replacement of PPEs, interaction with concerned department and ensure maintenance of PPE records.
Work permits : Develop Safety work permit system and train all the concern to build the competency. Also, Random and surprise verification to ascertain its compliance as well as competency of the persons issuing the permits. Should visit all permit to work locations before clearing the permit.
Initiate Reporting and Investigation of all incidents, like Near miss incidents, First Aid cases, Reportable accidents, Fire accidents, Dangerous occurrence, Occupational diseases, and implementation of Corrective and Preventive action to avoid recurrence of such accidents.
Carry out audit of fire load of different areas of plant and accordingly install maintain suitable type and capacity of Fire extinguishers, Hydrants, Fire alarms, Fire tenders and maintaining records to upkeep the systems all time.
Drive leading indicators reporting across plant to build strong reporting culture in the organization.
Monitor & track the corporate EHS and plant’s internal EHS audit process – ensuring that all audits are completed and properly documented.
Create a Monthly Safety Report that communicates safety performance metrics and safety program messaging & communicate to leadership team
Review environment parameters & ETP performance at sites to ensure compliance to local CFO/PCB requirements
Develop Process safety critical equipment with HODs /EHS & review their management (functionality, calibration, maintenance, reports etc.)
Visit plant periodically to evaluate the effectiveness of EHS management systems & develop action plan along with HODs for improvement.
Ensure Pre employment / periodical medical examination of all employee / contract worker is conducted in co-ordination with Medical officer / HR & other departments, including Vertigo test and Height pass test.
Conduct training on Occupational diseases for workers exposed to Hazardous work environment
Interacting with department to provide mandatory pre-employment, Induction training program integrating with HR to all workers, including contract workers.
